Guatemala Huehuetenango SHB EP
Producers: Various Small Producers
Region: Huehuetenango. Huehuetenango is the highest and driest of Guatemala's non-volcanic regions. Due to the high altitude, nearly all of Huehuetenango's producers must process their own coffee. Fortunately, the region has an rivers and streams in abundance, so a mills can be placed almost anywhere
Altitude: 1500-1900m
Process: Hand-picked, naturally fermented, washed then sun-dried
Roast Level: Medium & Dark
Flavors: Heavy bodied with dark chocolate notes and brown sugar sweetness
Terms: SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) specifies that the coffee was grown at an altitude above 1,350 meters. EP (European Preparation) means that the green coffee was sorted by hand to remove any defective beans and foreign material
Cupping Notes: 1/2021 - Sampled the medium roast profile- nice heavy body with prominent chocolate notes. This would be a nice espresso coffee when dark roast is selected. Compared to the Guatemala La Morena in the level of heaviness.
