Why Join the Rewards Program?
Being a loyal customer is important to us. Customers like you make this company possible, so rewarding you for your continual support is our way of saying thank you. For each $10 you spend, you will earn a star. It is not based on per visit, so you can gain 2 stars if you spend $20 online. After 10 stars, you will receive a 20% off coupon that expires after 12 months. Your star count is kept track by your phone number. Since Square only works currently with in-person sales, we will be manually adding your stars when you order using our website. Please make sure that you are using the same phone number each purchase.
When will the coffee ship?
Currently, roasting occurs 1-2 times a week. Unless otherwise noted, orders placed after 4pm will be processed with the packaging department to be shipped out in 2-3 business days. Our business workweek is M-F. The priority is to get our customers the freshest coffee available and ship out as soon as possible.
How long will it take to get to me?
Depending on weight, shipments will be mailed either First Class or Priority shipping. Typically arrives 2-3 days after shipment to most locations in the United States; however the speed of delivery is not guaranteed as once it leaves our production location we are in the hands of USPS. Packages are shipped from Indiana and will vary upon destination. Please keep in mind that USPS does not ship on Sunday so place your orders accordingly!
8/5/20 Effective Immediately: New Shipping Policy! We have just been made aware that USPS is experiencing shipping delays due to COVID-19. This has impacted some of our coffee orders to customers after we have shipped them (despite it saying 2 day shipping time at time of purchase). Right now, they give "Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility." but do not provide any updates nor can a representative help us further. We now have to wait 15 DAYS after ship date to file a claim for a delayed item. Since it is unpredictable what shipment will be delayed, we have to amend the shipping policy quickly--
$5 Shipping Option: If the shipping rate difference is $.99 or less between USPS & UPS, UPS will be selected. If the rate difference is above $1, then USPS Priority Mail will still be chosen with the chance of a delayed package. It can be anywhere from 1-15 business days. This option is cheaper but there is now a risk of a delayed package
NEW OPTION: $7 UPS Ground Shipping Option-more dependable with better tracking measures. Right now they are still 1-4 day delivery time depending on your location to the roastry
Do you ship internationally?
We do for all wholesale accounts. For more information, please contact us
What do you mean by triple inspected, small-batch roasted?
We pride ourselves in giving you high quality coffee beans. Triple inspected means we are looking out for any defections within the beans or foreign matter that may have been packaged traveled overseas by mistake when we weight out our unroasted beans, load them into the hopper and as they are cooling in the roaster's cooling chamber. Small-batch roasting allows for attention in consistent roasting results by doing 11lbs or less each roasting. Triple-inspected and small-batch roasting are our ways to reassure the customer, you are getting the best coffee we know.
Why does my coffee taste fruity?
You likely purchased a naturally processed coffee. This processing method allows the coffee fruit to dry on the bean for a period of time allowing the bean to soak up tons of natural sugars and imparting an incredibly fruity taste and aroma to these coffee. Naturally processed coffees can be some of the most interesting and unfamiliar to new coffee gurus. For current selections, check out our sample packs if you want to try out some of these kinds of coffees without purchasing an entire bag.
Why can't I get the same coffees year around?
Like all produce, coffee is seasonal. With our sights focused on quality, we purchase our coffee during harvest and only feature it while it lasts. Because of this, our menu constantly changes to reflect the seasonal buying practices. If you have a favorite and do not see it in stock, please give us a call and we can suggest a similar blend or see if we can't get that particular coffee in for you to roast.
Is your coffee fair trade and/or organic?
We do not solely purchase labeled "fair trade" or organic coffees. The focus is on the coffee's taste, quality and clarity with both coffee farmer and customer in mind. We have become a Registered Partner with Fair Trade USA and Rainforest Alliance. You will see under the Certifications Info on each coffee if it has a certification.
How should I store my coffee?
Oxygen and light are coffees enemies. Our bags are specially designed with a 3 layered structure to keep the coffee fresh and a one-way degassing valve-- so keep the coffee in its original packaging or place in an airtight container away from light.
How long will my coffee last? When does it expire?
For optimal quality, consume within 4-5 months from roast date. The best by dates for many brands are 12-14 months from roast date
Are you a coffee shop?
We are a full-time roastry, but not a coffee shop. We feature coffee drinks and baked goods only during our Open Houses. You are welcome to pickup coffee bags at our shop by appointment. Due to delivering to many areas in Indiana, we are gone frequently throughout the week. However, with an appointment we will be sure to be here. Limited openings available for after hour pickup. To setup an appointment, you can call or text 812-329-0087 or use Square Appointments
Why isn't there sales tax on my coffee purchase? Effective 10/2020
In Indiana (our physical location), coffee beans and ground coffee are exempt from sales tax and categorized as grocery (Indiana Department of Revenue Bulletin #29 Appendix A Page 12) Other products we sell will be taxed accordingly. Out-of-state customers will be taxed once we reach the Economic Nexus threshold accordingly if grocery items are taxed in that state
